Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Kalinaw Island Resort ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We follow the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and, for guests from Europe, the GDPR.
1. What we collect
- Contact details you send us: name, email, phone number.
- Stay details: travel dates, number of guests, food needs, special requests.
- Payment records for your stay. We do not store card numbers.
- Basic website data: pages visited and device type, without tracking cookies.
2. Why we collect it
- To answer your messages and plan your stay.
- To meet legal duties, such as guest registration required by Philippine law.
- To improve our website and service.
We only send marketing emails if you clearly ask for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
3. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with services we need to run the resort: our email provider, our payment processor, and transport partners who pick you up. Each partner may only use your data for that task.
4. How long we keep it
We keep inquiry messages for two years and stay records for five years, because tax law requires it. After that we delete them.
5. Your rights
- Ask what data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Complain to the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@kalinawresort.com. We answer within 15 days.
6. Security
Your data is stored on encrypted servers. Only trained staff can access it. If a data breach ever affects you, we will inform you within 72 hours.
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date. Big changes will be announced by email to past guests.
